Aeon Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1312.Chorley Masonic Hall
Installation Meeting. Thursday 7th October 2021

A great evening ahead although, I know I’m getting old but, I seem to have been down these same roads in the last couple of weeks, I had of course on the visit to Lawrence Mark Lodge, no holdups yet again M60, M61 a short trip on the M6, on to the A6 and before I knew it there was Cunliffe Street and the small very convenient car park at the far end, brilliant. If you want to see dedication in action sat outside the door of the hall already was the PGM R.W. Bro. Keith Alan Beardmore accompanied as usual on these trips around West Lancashire by the much-respected ProvGrandTyler W.Bro. Ernie Gavan who transports and sets up all the equipment needed for these very special evenings, the Team visits.

Happy To Be Here
Before no too long members and visitors alike began to appear, I had found a nice quiet corner with a very welcome drink of coffee, you can just see the pleasure on the faces of everyone attending the meeting, a genuine handshake, and a beaming smile. How do we categorise it, the Friendly Degree, the Happy Degree and now it has become known with another name the “Magic Mark Degree” I must agree.
I’m watching you

Before too long and following lots of that friendly chat and news from all over the Province the Meeting was opened on time at 6pm, once the housekeeping had been dealt with the PGM entered accompanied by Acting Grand and Provincial Grand officers. He was warmly welcomed by the W.M. Bro. John Rimmer who offered the gavel which on this occasion was declined as the PGM said he didn’t want to delay proceedings as he knew that the W.M. was really looking forward to carrying out the Installation of his friend Arthur Walmsley into the chair of Adoniram. Once the Prov S.W. W.Bro. David Winder, Prov J.W. W.Bro. Eric Hart and W.Bro. Phil Lyon Prov I.G. had taken up those respective offices for the ceremony the meeting continued at a pace and in no time at all it was concluded with Bro. Arthur Walmsley now WM for the ensuing year seated in the chair of Adoniram. All the officers for the ensuing year were then presented and received their appropriate collars.

In response the W.M. thanked Keith along with members of his Team for their attendance and had much pleasure in presenting him with a cheque for the charities, Keith said it was truly a wonderful donation of £500 and would be very well received.
